French Poetry Pleiades Dress 1 Paper Pattern
The Pleiades is the first dress from French Poetry and is an Iconic favourite with customers and it’s no wonder why!
A stunning V neck bodice with other gorgeous details with soft pleats at the shoulders and delicate-covered buttons
Lots of sleeve choices- choose from Tie sleeves or stunning lantern-style sleeves
This pattern and its instructions are in English.
FABRIC CHOICE/YARDAGE Length: with a 60inch (150cm) wide fabric, up to size 16 you will need a maximum of 2.8 yards(2.5m).
For sizes 16 to 34, you will need a maximum of 4 yards (3.5m) fabric for the version without frill, and 4.6 yards (4.2m) for version with frill.
Fabric choice: a large choice of woven fabrics: crepe, twill, poplin, double gauze… in cotton, viscose, polyester, linen, tencel…
This pattern is also ideal for velvet, as it has shoulder gathers instead of bust darts. You will need more fabric to match prints
Notions-
YOU WILL NEED A 21inch (55cm) zipper, interfacing in the right weight for your fabric (half a yard or meter will be enough), 6 buttons for the bodice (they are decorative but also a way to hold facing in place even better).
Matching thread for your fabric, scissors, pins, a marking pen, a machine needle that fits your fabric type. You will also need some strips of interfacing or organza to stabilize seams that are on the bias, to prevent any stretching (optional but recommended)
SEWING LEVEL Intermediate: 3/5. You will need to sew a zipper and make gathers on several pieces (there are videos about these techniques here).
